I am feeling a bit Australian, so I drew a kangaroo (but it looks like a dog instead). I was aiming to do a bit of street-ish feeling, like perhaps Air Gear. The Australia continent was added since I feel kangaroo alone is empty.
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!
Ayase, the improved version (at least I think she is improved). My aim is to combine old style and modern look, like Ryougi Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai.
Her weapon is a dagger (well and sword, too) and a revolver. I am just experimenting with the revolver, since I kinda like the idea of having a close and ranged weapon put together.
This is the full body version from my previous post. She wears random hoodies, so it could be jacket as well, but her inside cloth is always the same: a t-shirt and short pants.
Her personality? She is probably the type who never gives in despite her weaknesses. She is not that strong either. She can be shy and childish sometimes. That’s all I can think of right now.
I planned to color this, but I haven’t had chance to do so. So there you have it.
PS: Sis said Tessa is also the name of a girl from Full Metal Panic.
Not sure if anyone noticed the tags in the previous post. I actually have given her a name: Tessa after several considerations of other names like Floressa, Fleur and Cecile. Of course other names are still open. Tessa is just her nick name. I meant to add another name. The more the merrier.
This is like thinking a name for a baby. Oh, the horror of having babies!
This is the last batch of sketches of the skateboard girl. I wanted to put in one more drawing to fill the gap, but I could not find anything, so I just have to leave it as it is.
I really enjoy drawing her and I will come back to her again later.
(UPDATE 06/07/2010 ): Actually I found one more drawing to fill the gap, but I can only scan it at home, so I will update once I am home. Updated with the third picture.
It’s been like 2 weeks since my last post. I have totally been slacking due to watching World Cup and occupied with work. I haven’t really been drawing and these are weeks old sketches. My friend wanted the gas mask to be hanging instead of her wearing it, hence the lower two sketches.
I am not too sure if I should call it a sketch at all, since I stroke the lines slo…w…l..y….. So they actually take a while to do (since I draw slow anyway).
Sorry, not a productive June. July might be the same.
Today’s sketch theme is to emphasize her asthmatic problem. I actually wanted to draw her coughing, but I found that is really hard to draw. I am still looking for the special effect for coughing. By means special effect means like the speedlines on the top image to enhance her ‘feeling of pain’. I guess I should read more mangas!
The drawings above are drawn with reference using my webcam (Yes, I was camwhoring). Except the bottom right image.
I still do not have names for her. (I think I will be saying this for a long time).
More of that skateboard girl sketches. She has a curly hair with a French braid at the back. You can see my fail attempt of the braid there. It took me a lot of fixing but I could not get it right at all.
There are more amount of blue pencil traces this time. Usually if you see more blue pencil traces means that I have less confidence and hence I did more sketches to make it right before I proceed to penciling.
More of the sketches coming soon.
More of the skater girl (still nameless) sketches. I haven’t even thought any names at all.
Slightly random, I tried putting a gas mask on for fun to see how she is like. She is supposed to be the youngest in the group (her siblings). She has asthma. Yes, I don’t create my character to be a perfect person. I always try to think of something that at least they endure some pain in one way or another at least one or two weaknesses.
Yes, that skateboard girl. She still doesn’t have a name.
